RESPONSE TO THE NATIONAL LOCKDOWN

25/03/2020

Our President has instituted a national lockdown and has instructed local businesses to close and for South Africans to stay at home. The lockdown will endure for 21 days and will come into effect from midnight on Thursday 26 March 2020.

Fastway will close on Thursday 26 March 2020.

Our last pick-up day will be today for 24hour deliveries.

The impact of this shutdown will be substantial and will require a rapid shift in behaviour. We must be tolerant, assist each other where we can and pull together to slow the spread of COVID-19 for the good of our country and our people.

We appreciate there are some customers that send essential supplies (as defined), however, we cannot commit our entire network, and place franchisees, staff and the public at risk for a limited few.

All our depots have been instructed to work from home and divert phones to continue to take any calls that might come in. The National Master office is contactable on 011 234 9393 or on fso.reception@fastway.co.za. No couriers will be available during the lockdown.

We are living through an incredible moment in the history of our country and the World and we must selflessly do our bit to help. We understand and appreciate the impact this will have on everyone, our business including, but the lives and wellbeing of our fellow South African’s have to take precedence.

Taking President Ramaphosa’s cue, swift and decisive action now will put us all on a path to a speedy recovery and Fastway will be ready for business as soon as the lockdown is lifted. We will use this time to remotely complete technology integrations with new customers and develop new technology products that will benefit you once we get back to normal.

“It is said that the darkest hour of the night comes just before the dawn.”

By pulling together we can bring the dawn forward by heeding our President’s request to stay at home.

We wish you and your loved ones everything of the best during this trying time.

Stay safe.
